Ground Transportation |
There are a number of ground transportation options on Guam including local & national rental car agencies, a hotel-to-hotel privately operated trolley shuttle system, taxicabs and a very limited public mass transit bus system.
If you are interested in renting a car while on Guam, it is recommended that you make reservations early as driving around the island is a popular pass time for visiting tourists especially from Japan. Most hotels do not charge parking fees and there are no parking meters on Guam.
Most taxis are metered and it generally costs up to $20.00 for a cab ride within a three-mile radius of the forum venues. Prices are set for taxis stationed at the Guam International Airport as well as hotel-to-hotel. Forum attendees are encouraged to ask the hotel staff for recommendations and average pricing for taxi service if not renting a car. Avoid using un-metered taxis unless absolutely necessary and make sure that all costs are agreed to prior to entering the vehicle. |
